The Penguin Who Loved Adventures is a bilingual children’s book by Ken Reiman that began as a third-grade classroom project at Broadmor Elementary School in Tempe, Arizona. In 1987, the story received “Best of Category” in a local writing contest.
More than two decades later, the book was translated into Japanese in collaboration with my mother, transforming a childhood project into a mother–son multilingual endeavor. What began as an English story evolved into a bilingual book designed to help young readers explore language and culture.
Today, The Penguin Who Loved Adventures is available in multiple multilingual editions, created to inspire children across cultures to embrace learning, discovery, and the joy of language. Ideal for parents, teachers, and early language learners seeking a gentle and engaging introduction to bilingual reading.
We hope this story encourages young readers to explore the world with curiosity and courage.
